Strategies for 2021 shared at Family Investment Meeting

Leading investors, entrepreneurs and business owners will provide their analysis of the events of the past volatile and disruptive 12 months and their predictions for the next 12 when Campden Wealth Americas hosts its final virtual meeting of the year.

During the packed Family Investment Meeting on 7-9 December, we will be hearing from leading lights from around the globe about their plans and how they are changing and adapting their portfolios for 2021 in light of recent events.

The forum will be chaired by Mathew Garver, managing partner of Liberty Street Capital.

Key speakers include Troy Carter (pictured), an inspiring entrepreneur, pioneering music manager and technology investor. Carter will be analysing the events of 2020 then looking forward to 2021, and how we should be prepared. He rose to prominence as the founder and chief executive of Atom Factory, where he nurtured the careers of such global superstars as Lady Gaga and John Legend. Additionally, his early investments include Uber, Lyft, Dropbox, Spotify, Warby Parker, theSkimm, Blavity, Gimlet Media, Thrive Market, PlayVs and FazeClan.

Scott Wald, the Chicago-based technology entrepreneur and first-generation family office principal, will share his story. Wald will discuss the transition his family office made coming out of the Global Financial Crisis in 2008-09, and how it impacted his vision and investment philosophy.

Ellen Havdala, family office leader and managing director at Equity Group Investments, will reveal how she is helping portfolio companies navigate the pandemic. Havdala has worked in a variety of capacities for Sam Zell’s affiliated companies since 1990. Additionally, She serves on the boards of Ardent Health Services, a provider of hospital and healthcare services, and Equity Distribution Acquisition Corp, a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) targeting opportunities to apply technological advancement within the industrial industry.

This year’s meeting will be concluded by Salman Khan, technology entrepreneur, educational philanthropist and Khan Academy founder. Khan will be provide his views on 2020 and how we should be preparing for 2021.

The virtual Campden Wealth Americas Family Investment Meeting will also feature invaluable peer-to-peer networking opportunities with families and investors.
