Law firm Mishcon de Reya increases focus on family businesses

By Rashmi Kumar

International law firm Mishcon de Reya has upped its focus on family businesses in the US by introducing a new family law division.

It will be headed by Michael Stutman, an expert in resolving family disputes and divorce settlements. The New York-based office will handle clients who are involved in family businesses.

“A large part of our practice involves mitigating the impact of a marital dissolution on integrated family businesses, both in the United States and abroad,” Stutman told CampdenFB.

The American branch, which opened in January 2010, has been focusing on commercial litigation and regulatory matters so far.

The move comes as Mishcon de Reya, which also has an office in London, has seen an increase in the wealth management needs of its international clients, said a statement.

Founded in 1937, Mischon de Reya has around 70 partners and legal directors in its two offices.
