Impact, digital, luxury eco-tourism and real estate funds presented at Campden Wealth webinar

By James Beech

A Caribbean impact fund, an arts, culture and shopping platform for London, a Brazilian luxury eco-tourism venture and a blended US real estate income fund will exclusively present to qualifying family offices and private investors at the 10th virtual Campden Wealth Funds & Direct Investments Event on 27 May.

Each of the four investment opportunities will be introduced in 15-minute slots to all family offices and investors who will be able to ask questions and discuss the potential.

Blue Mahoe Capital is an impact investment company focused on providing investors access to the emerging economies of the Caribbean region and under-represented founders in the United States.

David Mullings (pictured right), chairman and chief executive, will introduce to participants Blue Mahoe’s impact fund. The private equity fund has a target of $100 million to deploy across an overlooked region and overlooked management teams. The fund will have a traditional management fee and performance fee structure, the company said.

Working to the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, Blue Mahoe intends to hire third parties to assess the impact of each investment to “measure what matters” and because it believes green washing has become too commonplace.

Carriage seeks seed funding to build an iconic media and technology business, designed for the digital age, and dedicated to arts, culture and retail in London.

The company’s team includes people involved in the creation of Monocle and Wallpaper*, two of the leading media launches in the last 25 years.

Lee Sankey, co-founder, said Carriage requires patient, strategic capital and was not suited to venture capital.

“We want to partner with private investors who share our passion for London, culture and the arts and who want to be part of maintaining London’s position as the most vibrant culture city in the world,” Sankey said.

“We hope this venture will resonate family offices who have a history of, or who are interested in creating positive impact through culture.”

Gremi International, an international holding company, is developing the Eco Estrela USD 120 MM impact project in north-eastern Brazil. The Luxembourg-based company is looking for an equity partner for 40% (USD 48 MM) for the first phase of the project, Six Senses Formosa Bay.

Greg Hajdarowicz (pictured right), founder, and Piotr Maj, project head, will explain how, by 2030, the destination will feature Six Senses Formosa Bay, resort-ready in 2023, branded luxury residences available for private ownership—an integral part of resort development—and a complex of leisure, sport and commercial facilities covering 1,753ha (4,331 acres), with ready-to-build plots for sale.

“Our commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles led us to create the Eco Estrela project, an emerging travel destination that is rich in natural capital,” Gremi International said.

“Baia Formosa’s coastal area requires sensitive development to create economic opportunities whilst preserving the environment for generations to come.”

Holdun presents a blend of US Government-backed AAA-rated fixed Income and high-yielding US commercial real estate offering diversification and strong risk adjusted returns.

Phil Stewart, chief development officer, will discuss how the real estate portion of the fund presents the opportunity to participate in four folios of mixed use commercial real estate, all in Boca Raton, Florida. The portfolio consists of 514,000 square feet (4,7752 sq m) of leasable retail, medical, professional and office space. The fund generates safe and attractive positive cash flow through both the fixed income and real estate portions of the fund, Holdun said.

“This consistent cash flow stream, coupled with the anticipated increase in occupancy, increasing rents and additional revenue potential from further development of the real estate, offers the perfect combination of asset protection and upside potential."
