Fifth-generation Robert Buchbauer heads a streamlined Swarovski

Robert Buchbauer, the great-great grandson of founder Daniel Swarovski, is the new chief executive of the Austrian jewellery family business amid a management overhaul at the top.

Buchbauer kept his title as chairman of the company’s executive board, the panel of eight fifth-generation family members which runs the 125-year-old manufacturer of fine crystal jewellery, and has been a member since 2002.

The cream of continental business talent will be celebrated at the fifth annual European Families in Business Awards in Berlin on 21 June.

Family business leaders and business school experts on the judging panel for CampdenFB have shortlisted the 30 best of the best from more than 250 nominations across six categories. Close to 1,000 companies have been nominated since 2012.

CampdenFB, in association with Societe Generale Private Banking, has announced the shortlist for the European Families in Business Awards 2015.

A judging panel composed of family business leaders and business school experts decided the shortlist, whittled down from more than 250 nominations.

The winners will be announced during a gala dinner on 23 June 2015 at the St Regis Hotel in Rome, Italy.
