Tributes have been paid following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the long-reigning monarch of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth, who has died surrounded by her beloved family at Balmoral Castle, aged 96.

The longest-serving Monarch in British history, The Queen famously broadcast to the world on her 21st birthday, “I declare before you all that my whole life whether it be long or short shall be devoted to your service.”

The Firm? We learned from Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey that is what the royal family call their family business. It’s a very appropriate term. As a family business, they own and manage land and castles, some of which they rent out, support multiple charitable ventures, play an extensive public role in the UK drawing on multiple publicity avenues to support its image and brand, and employ scores of employees who are valued for their loyalty and commitment. It's a huge and complex business.

The Heineken heiress and her husband, Michel de Carvalho, who also attended, are both members of the supervisory board and have an estimated wealth of €4.6 billion.
 
The King was said to be very impressed with the new brewery, nicknamed “Jumbo”, because of its scale and size, as he greeted the workers and uncovered a plaque commemorating his visit.

An Australian family firm is selling part of its horse training and breeding business to Middle Eastern royalty.

An Australian family firm is selling part of its horse training and breeding business to Middle Eastern royalty. Through his global thoroughbred breeding operation Darley, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai, has purchased the Bloodstock operation of Inghams Enterprises for an undisclosed sum. The sale includes all the Bloodstock training stables in southern Australia.
