Francois Heriard Dubreuil succeeds sister

Francois Heriard Dubreuil has been named the new chairman of French drinks business Remy Cointreau, replacing his sister Dominique Heriard Dubreuil.

It follows Dominique’s announcement in July that she wanted to step down at the end of 2012. She will remain a member of the company’s board.

Remy Cointreau chair Dominique Heriard Dubreuil is to step down from the family-controlled drinks company – and has recommended her brother replace her.

At the company’s general meeting last week, Heriard Dubreuil, who has led the family business since 1998, said it was her intention to resign as chairman at the end of the year.

French family business Remy Cointreau looks set for a double-digit rise in full-year turnover, after posting an 18.2% increase in sales for the first nine months of fiscal 2011/2012.

The Paris-based company, which is behind brands such as Remy Martin cognac, reported revenues of €821 million for April to December 2011.
