Rockefellers and Soc Gen join forces to court family offices

Rockefeller Financial Services Inc, the main corporate entity in the Rockefeller family's business empire, has announced an alliance with SG Private Banking, the global wealth management arm of France-based bank Societe Generale.

The two companies, who will remain independent, aim to serve the financial needs of ultra high net worth individuals and families offices around the world.

SG has purchased a minority stake in RFS, a global wealth management firm and parent company of Rockefeller & Co. R&C evolved from a New York family office established by John D Rockefeller (pictured) to manage his family's assets. Today it is an integrated investment and wealth management firm with a diverse client base.
Two of SG's senior executives, CEO Daniel Truchi and North America chairman Marc I Stern, will join R&C's 11-member board of directors. Truchi described R&C as "a highly regarded institution" that will benefit SG through its "long established record of investment success, experience and know-how in wealth management and family office services."
