Here’s today’s feel-good story. A property club for family offices is turning one of its recently acquired buildings into a homeless shelter over Christmas.
The Family Office Real Estate Partnership bought a 34,000 square foot building on London’s Embankment in November. The group’s managing partner, Basil Demeroutis, told CampdenFB: “In line with our ‘responsible real estate’ strategy we're going to rejuvenate the building, bring it back to life. As it is empty, we're also going to turn it into a homeless centre over the Christmas holidays.”
It has teamed up with homeless shelter Crisis to transform the building, providing sleeping, washing and cooking facilities over the holiday period.
According the to charity, almost 5,700 people slept rough on London’s streets last year.
