Broman Group subsidiary expands into Estonia

An award-winning Finnish family business that specialises in the sale of car spare parts and leisure equipment is expanding into Estonia.

Motonet Oy, the largest car part supplier in Finland and a subsidiary of family-owned Broman Group, said the move was the first step towards international expansion and added that the new outlet would open in Lasnamäe, Tallinn in May 2016.

Broman Group won CampdenFB's Top European Family Business Award in 2013.

Turku-headquartered Motonet Oy has seen rapid expansion in Finland in recent years, thanks to unique product ranges that are tailored to regional tastes, and currently operates 25 outlets in 23 different regions.

Eero Broman, managing director of Motonet Oy, said: “We will rely on our business model that has had great success in Finland, but we will have to adapt it to the Estonian market by taking the local consumer preferences and legislation into careful consideration. We aim to expand and develop our activities in Estonia, which offers great potential for growth.”

The 16-year-old company added that the expansion into Estonia would create new commercial activity and jobs in the economic area of Tallinn and said that the Estonian customer is likely to be an active individual with different hobbies.

“The extensive product range and good value for money have attracted Estonians to visit Motonet in Finland. Soon they will be able to do the same in Tallinn. Motonet is creating new commercial activity and jobs in the economic area of Tallinn,” Broman explains.

Broman Group's BG Varasto warehouse in Hyvinkää will supply the Estonian branch.

Second-generation Broman Group, controlled by the eponymous family, employs more than 1,200 individuals and had a turnover of €262 million ($296 million) in 2015.
