Prague, 20 June 2017
Family businesses are crucial to the health of Europe's economy. They contribute more than 50% to the eurozone's private sector activity and are playing a crucial role in the recovery of many of the hard-pressed economies of the region.
In order to recognise this dynamic and vital sector, CampdenFB, in association with Societe Generale Private Banking, is holding the sixth annual European Families in Business Awards, after last year’s awards, which were held in Rome (click here for the 2016 winners).
This year the awards gala dinner will take place in Prague on 20 June – a fitting location to celebrate family businesses, given their restoration following the 1989 Velvet Revolution after four decades of communism. Family-run enterprises generate 30% of GDP in the Czech Republic but the clamour is getting louder for the government to enshrine family businesses in law and support the sector with specific structural funding.
The awards are held in conjunction with our European Families in Business Conference. Watch and share our video above about the successful 2016 awards ceremony, held in Berlin.
Family-controlled businesses nurture the best virtues for successful enterprises: stability, longevity and sustainability. That is why we are acknowledging and celebrating the best family businesses, and their leaders.
