The theme of this year's annual meeting is "Improve the state of the world: rethink, redesign, rebuild". The founder and executive chairman of the forum, Klaus Schwab, said: "We have to rethink our values – we are living together in a global society with many different cultures.

Although the world still in crisis, according to the media mogul, we should treat it “as an opportunity to set goals for how we want to come out of it, such as energy sufficiency, world pollution ... and shape policies which will help to solve some of those problems.”

The list, from the World Economic Forum, features 245 leading executives, public figures and intellectuals – all aged 40 or younger – who were chosen from around the world by a committee of international media leaders.
