Who do you want to nominate for the European Families in Business Awards?

By James Beech

Your chance to tribute the finest leaders and businesses in Europe has arrived with the opening of nominations for the most prestigious family business awards ceremony in the world.

CampdenFB is proud to host the European Family Business Awards for the seventh year, in association with Societe Generale Private Banking, on 12 June. The gala dinner and glittering awards ceremony takes place in Madrid this year and will be the highlight of the popular European Families in Business Conference on 12-13 June.

Nominations open today and we are calling on you and the entire family business community to tell us which European success stories deserve awards in the following categories:

Top family business

Top family business leader

Top family business rising star

Top next-generation entrepreneur

Top non-family director

Top sustainable business

Visit our dedicated awards section here for more information.

The closing date for nominations is 23 February. A panel of international family business experts will then shortlist five exceptional finalists within each category, to be announced weeks before the winners are revealed on the night.

Deputy head Patrick Follea said Societe Generale Private Banking was "thrilled to be continuing the partnership" with the European Families in Business conference and awards for the seventh consecutive year.

"This conference is a unique opportunity for families in business to not only share best practices on education and knowledge but also to discuss the challenges of sustaining business over generations. We are very much looking forward to the next edition in Madrid."

Nicholas Moody, editor of CampdenFB and a member of the panel, said he was always surprised by the quality and geographic diversity of nominees.

“The awards draws out a wonderful collection of entrants from a wide range of sectors. Last year we had nominations from more than 20 different countries across the continent.

"As the European economy returns to health, the judges are on the lookout for those 'hidden champions' helping to power up Europe. That does not necessarily mean the biggest is the best. The awards give those market-leading European family businesses, from local enterprises to global conglomerates, the chance to shine."
