Exceptional speakers are confirmed and shortlisted nominees are ready for the judges’ consideration now there are just two months to go until Campden Wealth hosts the Davos and Oscars of family business in Europe.

Campden Wealth looks forward to hosting patriarchs, matriarchs and next gens and at the exclusive 15th Families in Business Conference, in association with Societe Generale Private Banking, in the beautiful Spanish capital of Madrid on 12-13 June. Delegates are invited to enjoy the glittering European Families in Business Awards in a private gala dinner on the evening of 12 June.

Jean Mane (pictured), president and chief executive and fourth generation member of the Mane family business, will serve as co-chair of the conference. He will welcome to the podium such prestigious speakers as:

Verena Bahlsen, the fourth generation member of the German biscuit manufacturer Bahlsen and founder of its innovation vehicle Hermanns

Carlos Halpern Serra, the fourth generation family member of Group Catalana de Occidente, one of Spain’s biggest insurance and credit insurance groups and a member of its board

Sole Ferragamo, the next generation member of the Salvatore Ferragamo family of Italian luxury goods and co-founder of the designer luxury jewellers SO-LE Studio

Lydia Forte (pictured), daughter of Sir Rocco Forte, the founder and chairman of the luxury hotelier group, and the niece of Olga Polizzi, deputy chairman and director of design

Matthieu Leclercq, chairman of Decathlon, the French family business he transformed into a world leading integrated sporting goods company

Chris Musgrave, vice chairman and non-executive director of Musgrave Group, a sixth generation Irish family owned international food distributor

Theodora Popa, a second generation family member of Transavia, founded by her father and now among the most valuable businesses operating in the continental food industry

Alexis Sabet Echavarría is a fourth generation family member of the Corona organisation, a 134-year-old family business, originating in Colombia

CampdenFBis proud to present the European Family Business Awards for the seventh year. Our panel of judges have the difficult task of debating who the worthy winners are of:

Top Family Business

Top Family Business Leader

Top Family Business Rising Star

Top Next-Generation Entrepreneur

Top Non-Family Director

Top Sustainable Business

Nicholas Moody, editor of CampdenFB and a member of the panel, said he was always surprised by the quality and geographic diversity of nominees.

“The awards draws out a wonderful collection of entrants from a wide range of sectors. Last year we had nominations from more than 20 different countries across the continent,” Moody said.

"As the European economy returns to health, the judges are on the lookout for those ‘hidden champions’ helping to power up Europe. That does not necessarily mean the biggest is the best. The awards give those market-leading European family businesses, from local enterprises to global conglomerates, the chance to shine."

Last year’s Top Family Business of the Year winner was Elisabetta Fabri (Starhotels), the Top Family Business Leader of the Year winner was Cyril Camus (Camus), the Top Family Business Rising Star of the Year winner was Martin Prinz (Croma-Pharma), the Top Next Generation Entrepreneur of the Year winner was Galahad Clark (Vivobarefoot), the Top Non-Family Director of the Year winner was Michaela Doll Lämmer (Europa-Park) and the Top Sustainable Business of the Year winner was Mariella Speciale (CIR Group).
